US Foods embarked on a journey to rationalize its BI landscape for consistency of insights for the executive team, and to create a common language for business measurement. Having tried a bottom-up approach, we shifted gears and set about deploying a top-down master dashboard in Tableau. This dashboard has become a nexus of information for the organization, and shows leading indicators of business performance. This ecosystem now serves the executive-level intelligence needs of this $20B+ revenue organization. In building it, the business moved the needle on how data is consumed from tabular data to interactive visualizations, starting a new journey that will allow more people to have the information they need to make the right decision at the right time.
