The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) provides food assistance to around 80 million people a year in over 80 countries. WFP's VAM (Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping) unit brings together diverse streams of data in order to analyze and monitor changes in food security. This analysis helps to inform the design of all of WFP's operations. As we incorporate new streams of data and leverage new technologies including Tableau, there is a need for data integration in order to provide a single, common picture that can inform humanitarian decision-making. We will explain our experience with this, as well as our processes, challenges and best practices.
