Driving population health initiatives with Midwest Health Collaborative’s user-driven design process for visualization

Midwest Health Collaborative (MHC) was charged with bringing financial and clinical data to member hospital systems’ to drive population health initiatives. However, complicated charts and clunky reports hindered user adoption.

MHC addressed these challenges thru a user-drive design that enabled a deep understanding of users and their initiatives, to deliver solutions in response to their specific needs.

This is driving superior decision making and measurable value. The Population Health Engine enables executives to instantly identify a strategy to maximize revenue across contracts, contract managers to set tactical plans in line with that strategy, and care coordinators to execute those plans by generating lists of specific patients with quality care gaps for outreach. This is reducing waste and driving rapid responses to shifts in population risks, enabling fast detection of changes in spending and quickly identifying areas of concern for remediation.

Alation | Governing analytic complexity at GoDaddy: Alation + Tableau

Data and analytics are core to GoDaddy’s ability to meet the needs of its diverse global customer base of more than 17 million. Learn how data catalogs tame data complexity and ensure accurate analysis, including:

• Activating data governance rules through new capabilities like TrustCheck and endorsements which surfaces compliance recommendations directly in the workflow of Tableau users and power analysts
• Tagging & tracking sensitive PII data with catalog sets surfaced through a user-friendly search interface that points users to the most accurate & useful datasets
• Best practices for leveraging machine learning to create and maintain a business glossary, ensuring consistent metric definitions across data sources

Bank of America | Growing responsibly with portfolio surveillance tools

The financial sector builds tools to interpret and manage risk in an increasingly complex world. We produce vast amounts of data that require synthesis with disparate public and private data sources. Legacy systems and regulatory pressures have forced the financial industry to produce reports that can be time-consuming and delay decision making. At Bank of America, we've created a suite of portfolio surveillance tools that help the company in our mantra of responsible growth and operational excellence. This session will show how we use Tableau to empower senior executives with interactive, actionable analytics for evaluating potential risks and the magnitude of a portfolio’s susceptibility to those risks.
